Hello, my name Is Anthony. I’m from Perth Australia. I have always been interested in Japan. My interest in Japan started when I was a young child, when I watched Pokemon every day before school. Later, I received my first Nintendo “Gameboy” together with “Super Mario Land” and “Pokemon Red and Blue”. I have always been interested in Japanese technology, and also in how advanced Japanese technology is compared to technology of other countries. I still enjoy gaming, as well as watching movies and television shows in my spare time. Horror and science fiction are my favorite genres! I arrived in Fukuoka in February 2019, and married my girlfriend the following month. My favorite Japanese foods are udon, ramen, and rice. I am hoping to travel and discover more places in Japan in the future. I’m looking forward to meeting and teaching all of you English, here in beautiful Fukuoka.
Hello. My name is Aubrey, but everyone calls me Betty. I’m from Seattle Washington, U.S.A., but at the beginning of 2014, I moved to Guam. When I was in Guam, I met many Japanese tourist and became interested in Japan. Actually, I’ve never read manga or seen anime, but I thought Japan seemed like a fun and interesting place to visit. I came to Japan eight times, before I moved here! I really enjoy island life, and living in Guam, and I wanted to work in the tourism, or hotel industry, so I thought I should learn Japanese. I came to Fukuoka to study Japanese and attain a business degree in April 2016. I graduated in March 2018. My favorite Japanese foods are sashimi, sushi, takoyaki, and udon. I really love fireworks, and Japan has so many festivals! I try to see as many as I can. I think my favorite Fukuoka festival is Yamakasa, even though it begins really early, it is so much fun. I enjoy traveling, and I have been to Canada, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, Bali-Indonesia, Korea and of course, Japan. I’ve also travelled around a lot of the United States. There are so many more place I want to see! In my free time, I do yoga, read and take walks to explore my neighborhood. I’m looking forwards to getting to know everyone and teach you English.
Hi, I'm Svenja. I am from Kiel, which is the capital of the most northern German state of Schleswig-Holstein. Since Kiel is next to the Baltic sea, it has a strong maritime culture, which is why, I love the sea and the beach. Except for the humid subtropical weather, Fukuoka is very similar to my hometown. Back in Germany my job was to produce audiovisual media, meaning mainly recording and editing videos. Visual media is my passion, so I really enjoy videography, photography, but also watching movies and drawing. I especially like movies with a well-thought out plot, and beautiful non-fiction movies. I have a bachelor’s degree in movie and television directing, so if you need directions on how to give speeches for example, I’d be glad to help. When I am not holding a camera, I love to do sports. My favorite sports are roller blading, martial arts, horse riding and volleyball. I am convinced, that doing sports regularly is fundamental to physical and mental health. Even though I can’t eat seafood, I love the cuisine in Japan. I can’t imagine anything better than a bowl of ramen after a long day, or enjoying a sweet red bean paste filled rice cake when visiting traditional Japanese festivals. Although I have come to Japan lots of times, I have only seen Kyushu and Tokyo. I’d love to hear about all the other places I haven’t seen yet, and their regional traditions from you.
